Barış Parıltı, who designed the architecture of two important software, Okyanus and BBS-Soft, introduced his new software, called Derinsis Retail Information System.
Parıltı, who graduated from ODTÜ electrical-electronics engineering and had the opportunity to get acquainted with the sector in 1996 by starting to work at Ülsa, took part in many important projects as a company partner for 10 years. After leaving Ülsa, Parıltı established Derin Bilgi Sistemleri Software and Consulting Trade Ltd. in December 2006 and tells about his company and goal as follows:
“I founded Derin Bilgi in December 2006. My goal was to produce a new software system that would cover all business processes of retail chains, with a development-oriented and permanent structure. After a 2.5-year product development process that started with brand registrations, product registrations were completed. Customer environments were strategically selected in suitable sizes, and the products were matured. Our position will always be to develop our software with quality projects only in the subjects we are experts in. Our technology understanding is to present the deepest information that will help decision-making to users and managers, to increase efficiency in companies, to ensure that company rules are implemented with the system, and to make business processes measurable.”
Software features
Parıltı summarizes the most important feature of Derinsis Retail Information System software as being made by someone with field experience, with the latest technology and a brand-new design, and tells about the differences and advantages of his software as follows:
“The use of handheld terminals, invoice control, approval process, price management, automatic order system, online sales transfer, campaign management, CRM analyzes, bank POS management, turnover bonus system, and integrated accounting form the main backbone. Our contribution to our customers in the projects we do is to determine stock shortages on time and accurately, ensure that invoices are issued according to agreements, track credit card collections, assist in draft planning, and compare the performance of competitor products. As an example of usage, all interfaces are equipped with detailed documentation for intensive document entry and control, and product providers' price and order transitions are emphasized to be done through files. We have significant experience in category/coding/grouping, which is the basis of sales, purchase, shipping, and expense analyzes, and we guide our customers accordingly. In this way, we developed very powerful basket analysis reports. The order system offers data such as sales speed, turnover day, dynamic sub-upper level. We will introduce companies to new concepts such as product sales ranking, product/company/store reports, and product models. E-commerce integration and shelf/area/front management are also areas we work on.
For chains, with dual server/database, operation and CRM databases can be managed separately but integrated. Stores can use the system directly with remote access according to given authorization. For this structure, current internet infrastructure is sufficient. In order to deserve the name 'Retail Information System', we must be compatible with all software and hardware required by the project. Naturally, we have expertise in the transfer structures of all POS systems.”
The software, which is currently used by various stationery stores in Istanbul, was implemented in Adana as a project of Renk Automation in UVEK, a local discount market chain. After a really special project with Wincor-Nixdorf, including online sales, automatic ordering, label control, and perpetual inventory systems, Parıltı established his first project of the desired size at Groseri Market, which has a selective place in the sector. Parıltı states that many retailers are interested in the software and that they are currently working on a new project with the Istanbul-based PNR Cosmetics chain.
Parıltı, who is working enthusiastically for our local and national market chains to be competitive, announces that he will soon announce his new projects.
